How to claim your funded hours
- 1
Check your eligibility
Government funded childcare hours in England depend on your child's age and, for the working-parent hours, on both parents (or a single parent) meeting the earnings and immigration conditions. Check your circumstances on the GOV.UK childcare calculator.
- 2
Apply for your code
Working parents apply through the GOV.UK Childcare Choices service and receive an 11-digit eligibility code. Universal hours for 3 and 4 year olds do not need a code.
- 3
Share it with us
Send us your code, your child's date of birth and your National Insurance number through our enquiry form and we will validate it with the local authority.
- 4
Reconfirm every three months
Working-parent codes must be reconfirmed each term through your childcare account, otherwise funding can lapse mid-term.
Eligibility rules and hour entitlements are set by the government and can change. Check the latest details on Childcare Choices and GOV.UK.
Our fees
Session fees, consumables charges and the sessions we can offer alongside funded hours depend on your child's age and the days you need. Send us an enquiry and we will share our current fee sheet and check availability for your dates.
Ask about fees & availabilityCommon questions
Does 30 hours cover a full nursery week?
Funded hours are allocated across 38 weeks of the year (term time). Many families stretch them over more weeks at fewer hours per week — we will help you map your code onto the sessions you need.
Are meals and extras included?
Government funding covers childcare hours only. Consumables such as meals, snacks, nappies and trips are charged separately — ask us for the current rates.
What if I am not eligible?
We offer flexible paid sessions alongside funded places, and Tax-Free Childcare or Universal Credit childcare support may still help. Get in touch and we will talk it through.
